The Flying Island is a Great Building from Space Age Venus which gives you “shards” to pick up in a Settlement, just like Incidents in your Main City.
Even if you don’t want to work on a Settlement you can still have the Flying Island. Just begin a Settlement, any will do (maybe one you might work on in the future?) and don’t do anything with it. Just let it sit there, empty. The Flying Island will still place the Shards and you can pick up the rewards.
